"sue&til" Development: First House Erected

The largest timber construction project currently underway in Switzerland is making progress. The erection of the first wooden building was recently celebrated at the "sue&til" development in Oberwinterthur. The foundation stone for the development was laid in April this year.

Implenia is currently building the largest timber construction settlement ever planned in Switzerland in Oberwinterthur on behalf of Allianz Versicherung. The "sue&til" development comprises 308 apartments on a floor area of over 53,000 square meters. Timbatec is responsible for planning the timber construction for this project.

Timber construction achieves the goals of the 2000-watt society most efficiently

The apartments will be built according to the concept of the 2000-watt society. This means that this concept not only takes into account an energy-efficient building envelope and building technology, but also the energy required for construction, operation and subsequent dismantling. Timber construction is the most efficient way to achieve these goals. 

The erection of the first of several planned residential buildings on a former site of the Sulzer machine factory was recently celebrated.
