Lignum, Holzwirtschaft Schweiz (PDF)
An investigation of 3 large-volume wooden buildings revealed a proportion of only around 21% wood from Switzerland. 34% of the wood comes from Germany, even 37% from Austria. Other countries of origin are the Czech Republic or Poland.
When the client chooses Swiss timber, they often surrender to the GATT-WTO procurement rules. That won't be necessary. There are various ways to comply with all applicable laws and use Swiss wood. This makes sense from an ecological, economic and social point of view. Lignum has now produced a guideline on this topic. Timbatec Managing Director Stefan Zöllig was actively involved in the development. Download this guide here or order the printed version from Lignum www.lignum.ch!
