Timbatec Founder Stefan Zöllig at the Bau+Energie fair in Bern

At the beginning of December, the Bau+Energie trade fair invites construction experts to the BERNEXPO trade fair and congress centre. The fair, which runs from the 8th to the 11th of December, also hosts numerous events. Timbatec founder Stefan Zöllig will talk about his experiences with wooden buildings on several of these occasions.

The 22nd Autumn Seminar, the kick-off event on the opening day of this year's Bau+Energie trade fair, is entitled "Digitization revolutionizes the energy sector." The topic is the federal government's Energy Strategy 2050, the influence of digitization in the construction and energy sectors or innovations in solar and building technology.

More than a dozen speakers were invited, including Marc Chardonnens, Director of the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN and Timbatec Managing Director Stefan Zöllig, graduated timber construction engineer FH. He talks about the advantages of timber construction, the building material that consumes the least energy. His theme: "The elephant in the living room - the one everyone sees but nobody talks about. Why we should build with wood now." The kick-off event on December 8 of which Timbatec is one of the sponsors, will run from 9.30 a.m. to 2.45 p.m.

Trends towards large-volume timber buildings – also in the Bern region

Stefan Zöllig will not only be heard on the opening day of the fair, but also at the "Forum Architektur" on the second day of the fair. The event will take place on Friday December 9th from 15.30 to 17.30. Everything revolves around the field of tension between architecture in times of dense construction and the energy transition. At the "Forum Architektur" Stefan Zöllig will speak on the topic "City of wood - large-volume wooden buildings in the Bern region."

Registration is required for both events. The kick-off event on 8 December costs CHF 120, including refreshments during breaks and an aperitif, conference folder and admission to the trade fair, for students CHF 80. Access to the Forum Architecture on 9 December is free of charge. Information and registration at www.bau-energie.ch
