Business Magazine Trend: New Timber Construction Technology causes a sensation

In the future, skyscrapers can be built cost-effectively and climate-friendly entirely from timber instead of with the conventional reinforced concrete structures. This was reported by the Austrian business magazine Trend in an article about the new TS3 technology.

" Timber instead of reinforced concrete" is the headline in the "Research & Innovation" section of the renowned business magazine Trend about the new TS3 technology. The magazine, which reaches over 100,000 readers in Austria every week, writes in its latest issue that this new timber construction technology is causing a sensation in the construction industry.

Behind the innovation is TS3 AG, the start-up of the Swiss Timbagroup Holding AG, which also includes Timbatec Timber Construction Engineers Switzerland AG and Timbatec Timber Construction Engineers GmbH in Vienna.

The magazine reports that over many years of research work, thin and extremely resilient floor slabs have been developed from plywood boards that allow very large spans. Research was carried out in cooperation with ETH Zurich, the Bern University of Applied Sciences and two industrial partners.

Shorter construction time thanks to the new technology

The business magazine also mentions another special feature: the individual cross laminated timber panels are glued together directly on the smooth end face on the construction site. "This also facilitates transport and considerably speeds up assembly and the entire construction," quotes the magazine Stefan Zöllig, founder and managing director of Timbatec and TS3.
