More and more large buildings are being built with timber as a renewable building material. Timbatec is a leading, innovative company in this growing future market. We construct multi-story buildings, industrial buildings and bridges in timber. And we develop modern timber construction products according to individual requirements.
Close to the city and still affordable: In the residential and commercial building MIN MAX in Opfikon, people can find a home that wants to live centrally and at the same time cheaply. And have the desire for living space, which they can use with other residents. Timbatec was involved in the development of this hybrid construction from the very beginning.
The latest issue of "Baubio", a magazine of the "Baubiosuisse" association, focuses on school buildings with building biology approaches. Among other things, a school building in Dietlikon ZH, which was constructed as a load-bearing timber structure and in which Timbatec was involved as a timber construction engineering office, will be presented.
Together instead of alone: More and more people in the second half of their lives want common forms of living. The Muttimatte settlement near Biel fulfills this wish. 27 apartments for people over 60 house the three buildings, most of which are made of wood.
The elephants from Basel Zoo have significantly more space to move since last week. The zoo has built a new, generously designed elephant enclosure. Visitors can observe the elephants from an impressive wooden viewing platform, the structure and construction of which was carried out by Timbatec.
When the new winter season started at the beginning of February, the Lämmerenhütte of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) surprised customers with considerably more space. The hut above the Gemmi Pass has been extended by five meters since last autumn.
The architectural office ANS Architect and Planner SIA AG from Worb near Bern has been in existence for 40 years. In its anniversary brochure, the office documents selected wooden buildings. Among them is the new building of the wood processor OLWO, in which Timbatec was involved.

The timber construction engineer is the process optimized interface: this is how Stefan Zöllig of Timbatec defined the profile of his guild at the 22nd International Timber Construction Forum in Germany. At this important industry event, the Timbatec founder had the opportunity to explain the know-how of timber construction engineers and the services they can provide in planning.
The building in Köniz immediately catches the eye: the recently completed wooden house called Arborea hides behind imposing concrete columns. They are used to support the arcades through which the apartments are accessible.
What potential does the wood have and what gaps need to be closed? Experts will be looking into these questions at Bern Wood Day 2017, which will take place on 17 March in Münsingen.
