More and more large buildings are being built with timber as a renewable building material. Timbatec is a leading, innovative company in this growing future market. We construct multi-story buildings, industrial buildings and bridges in timber. And we develop modern timber construction products according to individual requirements.
The new staff restaurant time out in the Cantonal Hospital Aarau was built in only eight months. The 3D planning and good project management enabled the fast construction time. ERNE as the general contractor and the planning team are in close cooperation with the client.
Properly planned wooden houses are comfortable and healthy to live in, and sound insulation is a high priority. A good example of this is the "sue und til" building complex in Winterthur with over 300 apartments. Their residents are very satisfied with the building acoustics.
The pedestrian and bicycle bridge Tüfi in Adliswil is aging. Analyses have shown that replacing the bridge is almost as expensive as an extensive renovation. Today the new bridge - with beech wood from the surrounding forests - was installed over the Sihl river.
The TS3 timber construction technology developed by Timbatec has made the breakthrough. Schilliger Holz is the first official CLT licensee. At an online event, the technology was explained and current projects were presented. Here you can find the recording of the event.
The Swiss League ice hockey season starts today. For the time being, HC Ajoie will play away games until the new ice stadium - built of wood from the surrounding forests - is inaugurated on November 18, 2020. Here you can already take a virtual tour through the stadium.
Vienna is growing strongly. By 2023 the city is expected to have two million inhabitants. That needs new living space. Timbatec is committed to more timber construction projects like the Alszeile. In this sustainable project we were responsible for the statics, among other things.
Switzerland's first wildlife bridge made of wood quickly takes shape. The assembly of the wooden beams takes another week. Since 1998 Timbatec has been committed to the realization of such structures from the natural raw material wood. Today it is finally reality!
In the Austrian Tyrol, a timber construction is currently being built with a 650m2 cross laminated timber panel. That is a world record! The TS3 technology makes it possible - a development by Timbatec together with the ETH Zurich and the Bern University of Applied Sciences.
Public procurement law (BöB) has been revised and will enter into force at the beginning of 2021. The BöB and the newly published SIA 101 communication standard demand that sustainability be taken into account over the entire life cycle. This is a clear commitment to wood as a building material.
Wood is a naturally renewable raw material that only requires solar energy and water for its production. Harvesting and processing take place with very little energy and the material also stores CO2. As a Swiss timber partner, Timbatec is committed to the use of this domestic raw material - also in public tenders.
