Residential building sue&til

2019, Winterthur

School Complex Chrüzacher

2017, Bassersdorf

At the initiative of Timbatec, the new school complex in Bassersdorf produced even more timber than planned. Originally, only the walls of the gym were to be made of timber, but the roof of concrete. Timbatec also proposed to build the roof in timber construction in order to save costs.

The Werkhof of the A16 motorway

2017, Loveresse BE

Highest precision was required at the Werkhof of the A16 motorway in Loveresse in the Bernese Jura. Due to the enormous mass of the 150 meter long hall, the timber construction elements had to fit exactly.

Apartment buildings Wolf and Edelweiss

2017, Andermatt

After The Chedi Hotel, Timbatec was awarded another contract in the holiday village Andermatt Reuss. At the two apartment buildings Wolf and Edelweiss, the timber construction engineers were responsible for the statics of the roof construction and for the fire protection of the shingle facade of one residential building.

Building construction makes a decisive contribution to achieving climate targets if it completely dispenses with steel and concrete. The next logical step is to do without these building materials in basements. Together with Timber Structures 3.0 AG and other business partners, Timbatec has built Switzerland's first basement made of wood in Thun. Now your opinion is needed. Take part in our survey.

The TS3 long-term test stand at the Bern University of Applied Sciences has delivered important results for the successful development of TS3 technology and has helped the technology to achieve a market breakthrough. Now it has been dismantled. In keeping with the circular economy, the cross laminated timber boards are being used to create a new object: two box girder elements for heavy-duty bridges.

Limeco's new power-to-gas plant is making a positive contribution to the climate change. It will produce renewable gas from waste and wastewater and feed it into the grid from winter 2021/22. The new building in Dietikon is also exemplary in terms of construction: from the parking ceiling upwards, the plant building is a pure timber construction.

During several nights, carpenters assembled the 17.5-meter-long, 1.24-meter-high and 8-ton wooden girders. In the future, deer, foxes and small mammals will walk across the new wildlife bridge near Neuenkirch. This pleases the environment in various ways. Because the wildlife bridge is a real CO₂ reservoir.

It is generally accepted that timber buildings are better than solid buildings from an ecological point of view. The big question is: How do the two construction methods compare economically? The consulting firm Wüest Partner AG has evaluated eight major new timber construction projects of recent years. The conclusion: timber construction, the ecological leader, can also hold its own economically.

HC Ajoie is promoted to the highest ice hockey league in Switzerland - an entire region is celebrating! We don't know whether the regional wood used to build the new Raffeisen Arena in Porrentruy was the decisive factor. What is certain is that from next season, ice hockey will be played in two lighthouse projects: The Valiant Arena in Davos and the Raffeisen Arena.

After Rynetel, the Federal Roads Office "FEDRO" is already building the second wildlife overpass with a wooden roof near Neuenkirch. Timbatec planned this structure as sub-planner of the engineering consortium IG 2B with B + S AG and Bänziger Partner AG. From March 28, the wooden beams will be installed.

TS3 connects timber on the front side and thus enables point-supported large wooden surfaces. This technology is the result of ten years of research and development by Timbatec together with the Bern University of Applied Sciences and ETH Zurich. Since the beginning of 2021, a new Innosuisse research project has been running for the further development of the technology and its successful establishment on the market.
