More and more large buildings are being built with timber as a renewable building material. Timbatec is a leading, innovative company in this growing future market. We construct multi-story buildings, industrial buildings and bridges in timber. And we develop modern timber construction products according to individual requirements.
The Swiss League ice hockey season starts today. For the time being, HC Ajoie will play away games until the new ice stadium - built of wood from the surrounding forests - is inaugurated on November 18, 2020. Here you can already take a virtual tour through the stadium.
Vienna is growing strongly. By 2023 the city is expected to have two million inhabitants. That needs new living space. Timbatec is committed to more timber construction projects like the Alszeile. In this sustainable project we were responsible for the statics, among other things.
Switzerland's first wildlife bridge made of wood quickly takes shape. The assembly of the wooden beams takes another week. Since 1998 Timbatec has been committed to the realization of such structures from the natural raw material wood. Today it is finally reality!
In the Austrian Tyrol, a timber construction is currently being built with a 650m2 cross laminated timber panel. That is a world record! The TS3 technology makes it possible - a development by Timbatec together with the ETH Zurich and the Bern University of Applied Sciences.
Public procurement law (BöB) has been revised and will enter into force at the beginning of 2021. The BöB and the newly published SIA 101 communication standard demand that sustainability be taken into account over the entire life cycle. This is a clear commitment to wood as a building material.
Wood is a naturally renewable raw material that only requires solar energy and water for its production. Harvesting and processing take place with very little energy and the material also stores CO2. As a Swiss timber partner, Timbatec is committed to the use of this domestic raw material - also in public tenders.
In Birmensdorf, a commercial building is being extended. The extension is connected to the existing neighbouring building with a 35 metre long wooden ramp and serves as a parking deck for motor vehicles. This week the construction work was started with the tachymeter. They are the basis for the detailed planning.
The former cardboard factory in Deisswil near Bern is beginning a new era. Thanks to the wooden multi-storey top-up and the conversion of the existing factory buildings, a new quarter is created. The wooden elements are currently being assembled.
The five-storey building with 34 apartments was recently erected. The timber building is located in Kufstein and is currently the largest timber construction in Tyrol. Timbatec is responsible for the statics and fire protection in this showcase project.
Since 1974 the wheel has been turning in the Schlossmühle Aarau. At that time it came to Aarau as a gift from the Bözen mill. But the wheel turned in no avail. The interior of the mill was empty and served as a storage room. Now the Schlossmühle is being extensively renovated. Timbatec calculated the statics of the many wooden components.
