Timbatec has developed a new girder grid system to be able to produce lightweight, flat-load-bearing components in timber. This is two-axle load-bearing and can be prefabricated in the factory up to element sizes of 8 x 10 m.

The System 

This is made possible by a patented system with web girders and continuous belts at the nodes. 


The first presentation of this system took place on 7 November 2002 at the SAH training course in Weinfelden. Further documentation and dimension tables are available from Timbatec.

- Beam width: 80 mm

- Mesh size ideal 500-1250 mm
