Wood Camp Live brings together international timber construction experts in Brno. Among them: Tamir Pixner from Timbatec, who will use the NQW project to show how well thought-out planning, clever details and integrated fire protection make sophisticated timber buildings possible.
Wood Camp Live https://www.woodcamp.cz/#modal brings together innovative minds in modern timber construction once a year at the OREA congress hotel in Brno. The conference is dedicated to multi-storey construction and focuses on building physics, fire protection and their implementation on the construction site. Planners, producers and contractors will discuss critical details, construction time sealing and the requirements for safe, high-performance timber constructions in a practical manner.

Tamir Pixner, DI Civil Engineering and MSc Timber Construction from Timbatec, was one of the three international speakers in 2025. Invited by the Czech Prefabricated House Association, he spoke about the NQW project in Kufstein [https://bit.ly/4rbZKPc] - an example of how well thought-out planning and clear structures pave the way for sophisticated timber buildings. Early coordinated processes, carefully developed details and consistently integrated fire protection characterized the construction of the 5-storey timber building. These insights were met with great interest, particularly in the Czech Republic, where the authorities are currently examining new guidelines for fire protection in timber construction.
In the lively exchange of experiences with participants, it became clear how customers benefit from Timbatec's way of working:
This is exactly where Timbatec creates added value: with extensive experience and a real understanding of the challenges of modern timber construction projects.
Presentation content Part 1 - slides/pages 9-23: Fire protection
This part shows how complex and precise the planning process is in fire protection for timber buildings - from the initial analysis to the fire protection concept and verification. The slides take you through the requirements of the OIB guidelines, explain the difference between «recipe» planning and real fire protection concepts and show how supporting structures, details and components are designed to reliably achieve the required fire resistance. It also becomes clear that well thought-out details, correctly selected materials and processes that are coordinated at an early stage are crucial for the safe and approvable implementation of timber constructions.
Presentation contents part 2 - slides/pages 24-71: Natur Quartier Weißache project
The NQW project in Kufstein is presented here as a comprehensive example - from the design, structural analysis and detailed planning to the construction process. The presentation shows the supporting structure, the cost variants, the decisive connection details and the structural solutions that made the five-storey timber building possible. The construction site photos and plans illustrate how well prepared the processes were and how quickly the shell could be erected thanks to clear structures, precise prefabrication and clean coordination.
