Wood has success

Last week, employees of the Office for Land and Buildings (AGG) and the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Bern visited the Competence and Innovation Center Wood Biel. In addition to wildlife crossings in timber construction, the focus was particularly on the feasibility study on heavy-duty bridges.

The "Unternehmenstag Holz Biel" is the unique meeting point in Switzerland for students and companies from the wood industry. Timbatec as a training company is gold sponsor of this event. We are looking forward to exciting conversations with future trainees.

Stefan Zöllig completely dispensed with concrete for his apartment building in Thun. The house is built on the first wooden basement in Switzerland and does not need heating. NZZ Format highlights the showcase project in a report on SRF.

Scrimber is the solution for dispensing with steel and concrete in building construction. This is an important contribution to climate protection. On Thursday, 02.03.2023 the second general meeting of IG Scrimber will take place. Interested persons are invited to attend.

It is probably the largest new building project ever seen in Küttigen. In the district of Rombach, the Baumgarten superstructure is currently being erected. Timbatec is responsible for the workshop plans of all timber components.

In the village center of Gretzenbach in the canton of Solothurn, a wooden building is being constructed with twelve apartments and a village store. The balconies cantilever over 3.5 meters - without any disturbing supports. A sophisticated suspended construction makes it possible.

From 09-11 February 2023, the Salon Bois took place in Bulle. The largest trade fair around timber construction in Western Switzerland celebrated its 20th birthday this year. We thank all visitors for the interest and the many exciting conversations.

Philipp Lutz and Stefan Rüegg have successfully completed the specialist examination to become VKF fire protection experts. This means that they can assume the function of the QA fire protection officer for projects of the highest quality assurance level QSS3 and QSS4. Congratulations!
