More and more large buildings are being built with timber as a renewable building material. Timbatec is a leading, innovative company in this growing future market. We construct multi-story buildings, industrial buildings and bridges in timber. And we develop modern timber construction products according to individual requirements.
Barely launched and already making positive headlines: Johann Maître, head of the newly opened Timbatec office in Delémont, was named "L'homme du jour" by the daily newspaper Le Quotidien. And in GEO magazine there is also an exciting report on the new ice stadium made of regional beech wood in Pruntrut.
On January 1st 2021, several ordinances and laws came into force that clearly favor timber construction: The CO₂ Ordinance requires that global warming be kept below 2 degrees Celsius, and the public procurement law BöB brings a return to the building-quality competition - where timber construction is ahead of the game.
Just a few years ago, timber construction was a niche market. Today, building with wood is mainstream and Stefan Zöllig, the founder of Timbatec, joins the great "Who's Who" of the Swiss construction and real estate industry. Find out in his interview in the NZZ am Sonntag why the days of concrete and steel are numbered.
With Jari Janowski and Lisa Adler, we were able to recruit two new employees for our team. Furthermore, Lukas Leu, Yannik Vetter, Christian Schnyder and Piero Kessler, four prospective engineers, have started their internship at Timbatec. We extend a warm welcome to all of them.

Every three years, the Prix Lignum awards the best timber construction projects. Projects can be submitted for participation until 31 March 2021. Many great timber buildings have been realised in the last three years - so it will be exciting again this time. Have you already submitted your projects?
Today the four prospective engineers Lukas Leu, Yannik Vetter, Christian Schnyder and Piero Kessler start their internship at Timbatec. We welcome you all and wish you a good start.
We warmly welcome Jari Janowski. Jari graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen with a bachelor's degree in engineering and has worked for the Derix Group for the last three years. We are pleased to have won Jari for the Timbatec team and wish him a good start.
Multi-storey timber construction is a passion of Timbatec - and it is booming all over Europe. Tamir Pixner, Managing Director of Timbatec Vienna, lectures on this exciting topic at Danube University Krems and Vienna University of Technology.
We warmly welcome Lisa Adler. Lisa Adler has recently completed her Master's degree in Civil Engineering at the ETH Zurich and joins our team in Zurich. We are pleased to have won her for the Timbatec team and wish her a good start.
