No deciduous tree occurs more frequently in Swiss forests than the beech. But because its wood is costly to process, it is often burned. Now the Swiss have developed a process that enables beech to play a supporting role in timber construction. Much beech and ash wood from the region was used in the recently inaugurated ice stadium in Pruntrut. Johann Maître, Head of Romandie at Timbatec explains in GEO how the Swiss hardwoods came to be used.

Johann Maître is "L'homme du jour"
The daily newspaper Le Quotidien in the Jura Arc has chosen Johann Maître as "L'homme du jour". Timbatec is pleased with Johann about this award and wishes the Delémont office a continued good start. Johann Maître is the manager of the Timbatec office in Delémont, which opened in January 2021.
The ice stadium in Pruntrut was recently inaugurated. Timbatec was responsible for the timber construction planning.
