The MFH Wiesengrund is a four-story new building with four exclusive apartments in Küsnacht. It is the first apartment building in the canton of Zurich to bear the Minergie-A label ZH-001.

The Execution

The building is a hybrid construction with a solid staircase core and floor slabs in concrete as well as load-bearing external walls in prefabricated timber construction. The retracted attic story is completely made of timber. All interior walls are constructed in drywall construction and thus allow the greatest possible flexibility for future needs of use.

The Details

The load-bearing outer walls in timber consist of 150 mm thick solid timber panels manufactured without adhesives. These also take over the vertical load transfer from the concrete ceilings. The outer insulation layer consists of an insulated, crosswise manufactured timber grid, each 120 mm thick, and is covered with a DHF panel. The elements were prefabricated in such a way that they already integrated the end formwork for the concrete slab and the support for the wall above it. The façade consists of a ventilated, large-format mineral panel (Rockpanel), which was subsequently installed on the building.
