The TS3 technology is the result of more than ten years of research and development by Timbatec together with the ETH Zurich and the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Today TS3 is ready for the market and has been outsourced to a separate company.

After the welcome by Ernest Schilliger and Stefan Zöllig, Prof. Dr. Steffen Franke reported about the many years of research at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel. He described the path from the "idea" in 2011 through countless tests in various test laboratories to the construction of the outdoor test stand in 2018. Franke concluded his presentation with a quote from Mark Twain "Someone with a new idea is considered a crackpot until the thing catches on," adding that the technology has arrived on the market and he believes in the success of the idea.
